Gondogoro Peak (5695m) has been introduced to provide an interesting addition to our K2 Base Camp trek.
We approach the peak from the Hushe Valley, climb Gondogoro Peak and then cross the famous Gondogoro La into Concordia which you follow up to K2 Base Camp to complete one of the most amazing trekking journeys on earth....spectacular from start to finish, a must do trip!

Days 1 - 2Depart UK arriving Islamabad the next day. Transfer to the hotel.Depart UK arriving Islamabad the next day. Transfer to the hotel.
Day 3We fly to SkarduWe fly to Skardu and enjoy magnificent views of Nanga Parbat. After refreshments we start our jeep journey towards Hushe, stopping overnight at Khapula (2600m) (HBLD)
Day 4travel to HusheWe travel to Hushe by Jeep (4hrs) along a narrow winding trail through several picturesque villages. The road can quite often suffer from erosion causing it to close, in which case we must walk. Overnight Camp 3059m (CBLD)
Day 5Acclimatisation walkAcclimatisation walk up into Honboro Valley with views out over the Hushe Valley. We aim to trek upto Humbrok where on a clear day it is possible to catch a glimpse of K2’s summit. (3hrs) (CBLD)
Day 6leave HusheToday with porter support we leave Hushe, the last inhabited village, to trek up the Gondogoro Valley by the East bank of the Hushe River. We camp at Saitcho 3350m, a lovely spot at the junction of the Gondogoro and Charakusa Valleys by a beautiful lake directly opposite the ice fall which tumbles down from the Masherbrum La. Days 7 - 8Laila PeakWe continue up the valley passing the beautiful Laila Peak and many other stunning 6000m Peaks camping at Camp at Dalsan (4150m) to finally reach Huisprung (4600m) from where our ascent of Gondogoro Peak will be made. At times we will walk on the glacier, a mix of moraine and at times snow and ice. This is a great experience, never steep or technically demanding, just enjoyable walking between ice pinnacles some capped with boulders. (CBLD)
Day 9Acclimatisation dayAcclimatisation day below the spectacular and beautiful Laila Peak. Today we will practice some basic roped travel and fixed line travel in readiness for our ascent of Gondogoro Peak (5650m) (CBLD)
Day 10Ascent of Gondogoro Peak 5650m.Ascent of Gondogoro Peak 5650m. Technically straight forward but with a summit that gives a panorama of Masherbrum, Chogolisa, Hidden Peak, Trinity Peak and of course the spear-like Laila Peak! Return to Huspang camp.
Day 11Gondogoro La high CampClimb to Gondogoro La high Camp.
Day 12Gondogoro LaCross the Gondogoro La to Concordia, here we are at the junction of the Baltoro, the Godwin Austen and the Broad Peak glaciers. Within sight to the north and east are four of the world's 8000m peaks, and a further 37 peaks in excess of 6500m! Where else in the world would a mountain lover dream to be? 5 to 6 hours walking
Day 13Day trek to K2 base campDay trek to K2 base camp, passing Broad Peak camp on the way. 8 to 9 hours walking
Day 14Heading southHeading south we descend down to Goro camp site passing Masherbrum and the impressive Muztagh Tower.
Day 15goodbyeToday we say goodbye to the sights of the great 8000m peaks that have dominated the skyline over the past few days, instead we get the great rock towers; Trango and the ‘Nameless Tower’. Overnight at Urdukas (3,950 m)
Day 16Descend to vegetatedDescend to vegetated and green Paiju camp site not stopping at Khorbutse on the way down as we are now well acclimatised and the walk down is not as hard as going up and much quicker.
Day 17We stop at JholaDay 17 We stop at Jhola which is the place of crossing the Domurda River. 6-7hrs
Day 18final descentWe make our final descent to the ‘metropolis’ of Askolie! Well, at least it feels like one after being on the Baltoro.
Day 19Jeep drive back to SkarduJeep drive back to Skardu (2,500 m) for a hot shower and a warm comfortable bed!
Days 20 - 21Flight or a 2-day drive to Islamabad.Flight or a 2-day drive to Islamabad. Free day in Islamabad if flying.
