Gondogoro Peak (about 5,600 m) rises above the Gondogoro Glacier near Gondogoro La. It is a non technical snow summit and a perfect acclimatisation climb before crossing the pass. On this trip we start from Hushe, the home of our team, walk up the green Gondogoro valley to Khuspang below Laila Peak, climb Gondogoro Peak for a view of K2, Broad Peak, the Gasherbrums and Masherbrum, then cross Gondogoro La (5,585 m) to Concordia and K2 Base Camp, and walk out along the Baltoro Glacier to Askole.

Day 2Fly to Skardu (2,230 m)Morning flight past Nanga Parbat (or the Karakoram Highway if cancelled). Overnight in hotel.
Day 3Skardu: rest and preparationSpare day for flight delays and gear check. Overnight in hotel.
Day 4Jeep from Skardu to Hushe (3,050 m)About 6 hours by jeep along the Shyok river and through Khaplu into the Hushe valley, the home village of our guides and porters. Overnight in camp.
Day 5Hushe to Saicho (3,350 m)About 4 to 5 hours up the Hushe valley. Overnight in tent.
Day 6Saicho to Dalsampa (about 4,100 m)Up the Gondogoro valley to the meadow of Dalsampa with views of Laila Peak. Overnight in tent.
Day 7Dalsampa to Khuspang (about 4,700 m)Onto the Gondogoro Glacier to Khuspang below Laila Peak. Overnight in tent.
Day 8Acclimatisation and skills day at KhuspangPractice crampons, harness and fixed ropes. Overnight in tent.
Day 9Climb Gondogoro Peak (about 5,600 m)An early start on snow slopes to the summit with views of K2, Broad Peak, the Gasherbrums, Masherbrum and Laila Peak. Back to camp. Overnight in tent.
Day 10Khuspang to Gondogoro La high campMove up the glacier to the high camp below the pass. Overnight in tent.
Day 11Cross Gondogoro La (5,585 m) to Ali CampA night start on fixed ropes to the top of Gondogoro La at sunrise, then down to Ali Camp on the Baltoro side. Overnight in tent.
Day 12Ali Camp to Concordia (4,600 m)Walk down the Vigne Glacier to Concordia below K2. Overnight in tent.
Day 13Day trip to K2 Base Camp (about 5,000 m)Walk to K2 Base Camp and back to Concordia or Broad Peak Base Camp. Overnight in tent.
Day 14Concordia to Goro IIStart down the Baltoro Glacier. Overnight in tent.
Day 15Goro II to UrdukasDown the glacier past the Trango Towers. Overnight in tent.
