The Spantik Base Camp trek starts in Arandu, the last village of the Basha valley in Shigar, and follows the Chogolungma Glacier to Base Camp at about 4,300 m below Spantik (7,027 m), the Golden Peak. Spantik was first climbed in 1955 by a German team, and its south east ridge is one of the most popular first 7,000 m climbs in Pakistan. The trek is a quiet glacier journey with big views and moraine camps.
