Khosar Gang (6,046 m) rises above the Skardu valley in Gilgit Baltistan and is one of the easiest and closest 6,000 m peaks in Pakistan. The approach is short: about one or two hours by jeep from Skardu to Kashmal village and 3 to 4 hours of walking to Base Camp at 3,800 m. The route is a non technical climb on snow and glacier slopes, with Camp 1 at 4,800 m and Camp 2 at 5,200 m. From the summit you can see K2, Nanga Parbat and the Deosai plateau. It is a great first 6,000 m peak and an ideal preparation for Spantik or Laila Peak.
