Mango Gusor (6,288 m) stands in the Masherbrum mountains of the Karakoram, south of the Baltoro Glacier in Gilgit Baltistan. The Himalayan Index lists no recorded ascent, so a successful climb could be a first ascent. Because there is no known route, every expedition is exploratory, and our local team helps choose the approach and Base Camp for the line you want to try.

Day 1Arrive in Islamabad (540 m)Our team meets you at Islamabad airport and takes you to your hotel. Rest after your flight. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2Expedition briefing in IslamabadOfficial expedition briefing at the Ministry of Tourism with the Alpine Club of Pakistan, final paperwork, gear check and last shopping. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3Fly to Skardu (2,230 m)Morning flight past Nanga Parbat to Skardu, about one hour. If the flight is cancelled because of weather, we drive the Karakoram Highway instead (one or two days). Overnight in hotel.
Day 4Skardu: final preparationsRepack loads for the porters, buy fresh supplies and visit Skardu bazaar. This day is also a spare day for flight delays. Overnight in hotel.
Day 5Jeep from Skardu into the Braldu valleyAbout 5 to 6 hours by jeep through the Shigar valley into the Braldu valley to the road head. Overnight in tent.
Day 6Trek to Mango Gusor Base CampWalk with porters to Base Camp below Mango Gusor. Overnight in tent.
Day 7 to 24Climbing period on Mango Gusor (6,288 m)An exploratory climb. After acclimatisation the team studies the mountain, chooses the safest line on snow, ice and rock, sets high camps and waits for a weather window.
Day 25Trek back to the road headClean up Base Camp and walk down. Overnight in tent.
Day 26Jeep to SkarduDrive back to Skardu. Overnight in hotel.
