Masherbrum (also known as K1) is a peak in the mighty Karakorum Mountain range. It is 7,821 meters (or 25,659ft) high and is located in the Ghanche District, Gilgit-Baltistan. The peak is also near to the Baltoro Glacier and has views of the peaks that include one of the highest in the world such as K2, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum (I, II, III and IV). It falls in the Masherbrum mountains which is the sub-range of the Karakorum Mountains.
Masherbrum Expedition is an expedition to the 22nd highest peak in the world and 9th highest in Pakistan. The first successful ascent to Masherbrum was carried out by an American-Pakistani Expedition led by Goerge Bell and Willi Unsoeld.
Masherbrum Peak Expedition starts from Askole via Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Skardu is a city in Gilgit-Baltistan and serves as the capital of Skardu district. The best time for the ascent to the summit is during the Summers of Pakistan between May to August.The Baltoro Glacier is the route most commonly used to access the 8000m peaks of the Karakoram, and many trekkers also travel on the Baltoro.

Day 1Arrival IslamabadArrival at airport and transfer to hotel.Overnight stay in hotel at Islamabad.
Day 2Islamabad to Skardu (By Air)Early morning flight to Skardu (flights are subject to weather), if unable to fly we will depart for Skardu by road with overnight stay at Chilas. Overnight stay in hotel at Chilas.
Day 3Chilas to SkarduIn case of flight has operated we will go for sightseeing tour of Skardu and in case no flight, the day will be used for over land travel from Chilas to Skardu (total drive is 22 – 24 hrs from Islamabad to Skardu). Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.
Day 4Skarduthe day is to finalize the trek arrangements. Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.
Day 5Skardu to HusheAfter breakfast we drive in jeeps along the Indus and Shyok valleys before turning northwards up the Hushe valley to reach the road head at the little Village of Hushe. (Tent)
Day 6Hushe to FarbesangAfter breakfast trek to Farbesang. Today we leave the last inhabited village Hushe. Porters are assembled to carry our luggage for the next section of the journey. For the remaining portion of our journey we rely on our porters who carry our food and equipment and sustain our grand trek.After an easy and scenic walk crossing Hushe,Homborok and Aling Rivers takes us to Farbesang, a beautiful spot on the edge of tamarisk wood forest. En route the views of Shabas Peak and Aling, valley etc. (Tent)
Day 7Burmbarmma to Masherbrum Base campAfter breakfast trek via Masherbrum Glacier and arrive at the small grassy patch below the cliff face, which serves as the base camp for Masherbrum Peak. (Tent)
Day 8 - 45Climbing activitiesWe have more than five weeks acclimatization and scaling the main summit of Masherbrum.
Day 46Base camp to HusheAfter breakfast we will trek back to Hushe village. After Lunch we will meet Little Karim and other mountaineers after meeting we will visit also hushe Village. Overnight stay in hotel at Hushe
Day 47Hushe to SkarduAfter breakfast we will depart for Skardu, en route lunch stop at Khaplu, will also to visit Khaplu fort and Chaqchen mosque, the mosque is founded by the Mir Syed Ali Hamadai in 17century. Afternoon drive to Skardu. Overnight stay in hotel at Skardu.
Day 48Skardu to ChilasAfter breakfast we will drive for full day on Skardu route and KKH arrival in Chilas transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in hotel
Day 49Chilas to IslamabadAfter breakfast we will drive via Babusar pass to Islamabad. We start early in the morning, to cover the 12 hours long drive. Short stay in Naran for lunch, by evening we shall reach Islamabad. Overnight stay at Islamabad.
Day 50Islamabad to Flight outTransfer to airport for flight back home.
IncasePlease Note:Gilgit Baltistan flights are subject to weather and backlog, in case of flight cancellation we will travel by road, and one night of Islamabad will be adjusted in overland travel.
