Laila Peak (6,096 m) is often called the most beautiful mountain in Pakistan. Its sharp, perfect spear of snow and ice rises above the Gondogoro Glacier in the Hushe valley, and climbers from all over the world come to stand on its summit.
Where is Laila Peak?
Laila Peak stands at the head of the Hushe valley in Baltistan, close to the Gondogoro Glacier and the famous Gondogoro La. From base camp you see Masherbrum, K6 and the granite peaks of the Hushe valley.
How long does the expedition take?
Our Laila Peak expedition is 22 days from Islamabad to Islamabad. We fly or drive to Skardu, travel by jeep to Hushe, and walk from Hushe to Laila Peak Base Camp in one day. The rest of the time is for acclimatisation, the climb itself and spare weather days.
How difficult is it?
Laila Peak is a technical climb on steep snow and ice. You should be comfortable using crampons, an ice axe and fixed ropes, and you should have some previous high altitude experience. On our trips you climb with an experienced high altitude porter who has already summited Laila Peak.
