The Masherbrum Base Camp trek starts in Hushe, the last village of the Hushe valley, and follows the Masherbrum river past the summer pastures of Parbisan and Brumbrama to Base Camp at about 4,200 m below the huge south face of Masherbrum (7,821 m). Masherbrum, marked K1 in the first survey of the Karakoram, was first climbed in 1960 by George Bell and Willi Unsoeld. This trek is quieter and shorter than the Baltoro, with green camps, local herders and big glacier views.
